You are an Old Earth investigator from the Chronological Investigation Society or CIS for short.  The year is 2132.  While transferring data, an accident occurs erasing almost all the information about "asbestos" from the records.  Using other archives, Its up to you to restore this lost information and present to your colleagues on what you managed to restore!

The Plot Thickens!

Background

With the surviving information you gain some clues for your investigation

  • Asbestos is a mineral which can be mined

  • Canada has some of the worlds largest deposits

  • Mining asbestos was an important industry for many years

  • Asbestos was widely used for many years

  • Asbestos is known to be  VERY BAD for human health

Controversy

For many years Canada has been regarded poorly internationally due to its asbestos policy.  Mining asbestos has helped other industries make advancements quickly due to its many uses in construction, and created thousands of jobs in Canada.  However, as more information as to the health hazards became known, Canada failed to act and protected what it saw as a vital national industry. As you investigate, think about if protecting a valuable industry and resources for manufacturing was worth the cost in human health?
